Bath Alliance for Transport conference

The Bath Alliance for Transport and Public realm held a conference on 16 November 2018.  The Future of Transport in Bath: Shaping and Delivering a City Transport Plan.  This event was a fresh and positive contribution towards moving Bath forward to resolve its acute transport issues.

As sponsor of the conference, the Bath Alliance for Transport and Public Realm (Alliance) believes that its objectives were met:

  • Engage Bath’s civic and political leaders in an informed discussion about action to develop and deliver a transport plan
  • Highlight the importance of having a city vision as the starting point for developing a transport delivery plan
  • Demonstrate the critical importance of leadership and urban transport expertise if progress is to be made
  • Show that York and other cities similar to Bath are actually delivering their long term transport plans
  • Heighten awareness of our dependence on WECA (West of England Combined Authority) to embrace a Bath transport plan within the new regional plan
  • Provide a neutral platform for Bath’s political groups to display their transport credentials as they compete for votes in the May 2019 local election
